As an award winning leader Monifa is a vision architect and certified executive coach dedicated to moving individuals, teams and communities from “I hope to be, to I AM!” Following a twenty-two year career as a leader within the health industry, Monifa now serves as the CEO of The Drayton Leadership Group, LLC which has allowed her to operate in her passion of being a change agent in the space of leadership development, diversity, equity, inclusion, and coaching leaders to reach their maximum potential. Additionally, she is a certified facilitator for both DiSC Personality Assessment and True Colors International which allows her to assist clients with finding their best self and personal success through scientifically proven assessments and guidance. Dedicated to community service, in February 2023 she was appointed by the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners to serve as the first Black woman to chair the Mecklenburg County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board within its 75 year history. In this role, she works collaboratively with the state of North Carolina, overseeing a nearly $300 million dollar budget and more than 30 locations. Humbly, she has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Atrium Health Excellence in Diversity and Equity Honors, Diversity MBA Top 100 Under 50 Emerging Leaders and Charlotte Regional Business Alliance Emerging Leader Award.

In her spare time she enjoys global travel, live music and spending time with her three young nephews who make her heart full.
