My relationship with Ronnie Bryant goes back to before City Startup Labs (CSL) was launched here in Charlotte, NC. As CEO of the Charlotte Regional Partnership, he was gracious enough, solely on the basis of a character read and a handshake, to make important introductions for me in the city – which helped to establish my validity right from the start. That spoke volumes about his integrity and willingness to be an ally, even for someone he only just met. Of course, as a businessman, he required that you come correct. Over the subsequent years of knowing him, I have seen his generosity, business savvy and insightfulness up close. He’s a straight shooter. And it was for these reasons that I asked if he would coach me through a critical inflection point for my organization.
